CERN is offering a little school for children from 2 years old on the CERN site in Meyrin.

Depending on the town where you live your child will automatically be enrolled for free in the public school of your town when he/she turns 3 during the civil year even in the middle of a school year, all the classes will be in French but there are always some US or British people in the classrooms and some special help for non-speaking children.
In Ferney Voltaire, Cité Scolaire Internationale de Ferney-Voltaire (ac-lyon.fr) has a special agreement with CERN admitting your child automatically at the College (11 years old). In Gex, the private school Jeanne d’Arc – Institution Jeanne d’Arc (jda-gex.org) is also very good, not very expensive, with a bilingual section from 12 years old.
SCHOOLS in SWITZERLAND
All the Public Swiss schools are free and will take your children even in the middle of a school year when they turn 4 years old.
There are also many private schools which can be quite expensive in Geneva, most of them allow entry regardless of whether you reside in Switzerland or France.

You have several solutions to look after children under 3 years old before they can go to school.
1-In France you can find an official nanny to look after your children, the city hall of your town will provide you with a list of assistantes maternelles agrées (nannies with special government agreement to look after kids).
2-You can bring your child to a “creche“, reservations must be made with the city hall of your town.
